The Front Page Award competition delivers on its promise to attract, acknowledge and reward extraordinary journalism by newswomen. In so doing it fulfills two elements of The Newswomen’s Club of New York’s mission: to support newswomen and promote the highest standards of journalism.
The annual Front Page Awards competition attracts hundreds of entries over several months. Work from newswomen in wires, newspapers, pictures, magazines, radio, television, and online is considered by teams of judges. Front Page Awards for foreign correspondence, journalist of the year and lifetime achievement are nominated, discussed, selected. The competition has grown considerably since it began in 1937-38.
