APPLICANT'S PACKAGE SHOULD INCLUDE:

1. Resume: Education and relevant experience in journalism or other work, with employment dates. (This can include on-campus journalism jobs, summer internships, freelance gigs and full-time jobs.) Two pages maximum.

2. Brief financial statement, including amount needed for tuition, living expenses and other costs such as school supplies during the academic year. Please list savings, other scholarships and any other financial resources you have in hand to finance your graduate work.

3. Two letters of recommendation (former professors, bosses, mentors) that focus on your qualifications for the field of journalism. **E-mail with your application as attachments or forwards (We prefer that you include the recommendations with your package) or e-mail separately to: mccormickscholarship@hotmail.com

4. Autobiographical essay: Use your best writing to tell us who you are, why you are pursuing a journalism career and what you hope to achieve. Was there a defining moment that set you on this path? Please mention family, educational background and experience. About 1,000 words maximum.

5. Two examples of your best published or broadcast work, with copies of published stories, final scripts or transcripts (PDF or Microsoft Word attachment) and links to where your stories were published or broadcast – or links to the video or audio files.
