Bio: Amy Wu is an award-winning writer for the women’s ag and agtech movement. She is an entrepreneur and storyteller bridging the action in the field with the digital advances in the office and laboratory. Amy is also the Founder and Creator of From Farms to Incubators, a multimedia platform that uses documentary, video, photography, and the written word to tell the stories of women leaders and innovators in agtech. It has a mission of highlighting women in food, farming, and farmtech, especially women of color. From Farms to Incubators includes a documentary that has been screened at SXSW and a book that was published in 2021 that profiles nearly 30 women founders in agtech.
Prior to starting From Farms to Incubators, Amy spent over two decades as an investigative reporter at media outfits including the USA Today Network, Time magazine, and she has contributed to The New York Times, HuffPost, and Wall Street Journal. She reported on agriculture and agtech for The Salinas Californian in Salinas, Calif.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in history from New York University and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. She is also an avid open swimmer and completed the 28.6 mile Manhattan Island Marathon swim in 2010. When not writing and swimming she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat Yul Brynner and considers herself a film buff.
