Jennifer Cunningham - President

Jennifer H. Cunningham is an award-winning journalist and editor who has served as the Newswomen’s Club president since 2017. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the News Division at Insider.com. Her work - which has also appeared in the New York Daily News, amNew York Newspaper, Essence.com, the Bergen Record newspaper, the Herald News and The Grio - has been recognized by organizations including the New York Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Press Association.

Lillian Rizzo - Vice President of Membership

Lillian is a reporter at The Wall Street Journal, covering the cable media industry. She's worked at WSJ since 2014, previously covering private-equity and bankruptcy. Previously, she was a reporter at Debtwire and the New York Daily News. Lillian joined the Newswomen's Club in 2016, and took on the VP of Membership role in 2017. A lifelong New Yorker, Lillian attended Baruch College and Columbia University's School of Journalism. She grew up in Brooklyn, and, recently, finally left the borough — for Staten Island. She promises it's not as far, and better, than it sounds.

Yelena Dzhanova - Vice President of Membership

Yelena Dzhanova is a news reporter in New York. Her coverage at Business Insider centers on the White House, politics, and women's issues. Previously, Yelena worked at CNBC, writing about the Trump administration, Congress, 2020 elections, voting rights, and vulnerable institutions in the face of the coronavirus. She's worked in various newsrooms, including NBC News, BuzzFeed News, CNN, and New York Magazine. Yelena graduated from Baruch College in 2019, and she is a proud product of the City University of New York. She is pursuing a master's degree in women's and gender studies at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Britta Lokting - Vice President of Programs

Britta Lokting is an independent journalist from Oregon writing features for The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, Oxford American, Jezebel, Outside, MIT Technology Review, and elsewhere. She graduated from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism with a focus in magazine writing. Her work has been recognized by The Religion News Association and The Best American Travel Writing 2020 Anthology.

Isabelle Chapman - Deputy Chair of Programs

Isabelle Chapman is a producer for CNN Investigates. Before joining CNN in 2016, she worked at Mashable. Isabelle was born and raised outside Chicago. She has a Bachelor's degree from DePauw University and a Master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.

Katherine Doherty - Treasurer

Katherine Leigh Doherty is a finance reporter at Bloomberg News covering Wall Street, Bank of America, Citadel Securities and the exchanges. She previously covered distressed debt and bankruptcy for Bloomberg and Reorg Research. In radio Katherine reported and produced stories for WBUR's Radio Boston and Rhode Island Public Radio (RIPR), NPR. Katherine's live newscasts were broadcast on 95.5 WBRU, Southern New England's soft rock station. She conducted interviews for BBC News and WPRI Channel 12 CBS Television Broadcast Station in Providence. Born in Massachusetts, Katherine is an avid Boston sports fan. She has sung the National Anthem and God Bless America for the Celtics, New England Patriots and Red Sox. She's co-treasurer for the Newswomen's Club where she handles the organization's finances.

Caitlin Nolan - Vice President of Treasury and Fundraising

Caitlin Nolan is the managing editor of Inside Edition Digital, the digital arm of television's longest-running, top-rated, and most-honored syndicated newsmagazine. Before becoming managing editor, she served as a senior reporter on the team, covering breaking news as well as writing and producing long-form pieces and mini-documentaries. Her piece on the life of a man released from prison after spending 13 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit was nominated for an Emmy in 2019. She previously worked as a staff reporter at The New York Daily News. A native New Yorker, Caitlin received her B.A. in communications from Marist College.

Chelsea Matiash - Recording Secretary

Chelsea Matiash is a deputy editor for strategy and operations at The New York Times. She is the secretary on the board of the Newswomen’s Club of New York and is a lecturer in journalism. Previously, she was the senior photo editor at The Intercept, deputy editor for multimedia at TIME Magazine and a photo editor at The Wall Street Journal and at The Associated Press. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami and holds certifications in editing, product management and video production.



 

Kate Bubacz - Deputy Recording Secretary

Kate Bubacz is the photo director for BuzzFeed News. She works with photographers on feature assignments covering breaking news, cultural affairs, and investigations around the world, and leads the JPG team. Previously, she worked at ABC News and The New York Post.

 
 

Natalie Sachmechi - Vice President of Special Events

Natalie Sachmechi is a real estate reporter at Crain’s New York Business where she covers everything from affordable housing to the industry’s biggest players. Before joining Crain’s, Natalie covered billionaires for Forbes. She is a graduate of New York University’s Journalism Institute where she specialized in business reporting.
